Cooling PipexEV Powertrain

Product Introduction

Piping set in cooling water routes for engines, battery packs, charging ports, etc.
By using resin for piping traditionally made of aluminum, etc., we help reduce the weight of the vehicle.
There are also many examples of functional integration of complex shapes/peripherals that are only possible with resin.

Features

  • It can reduce the pressure drop inside the piping.
  • Functions such as plastic clips can be integrated.
  • Complex shapes can be made by welding.
  • According to the environment, the most suitable material can be proposed.

Pressure loss reduction

A "R" is added to the elbow inside the inner diameter of the flow path using a special mold structure. It’s for reducing pressure loss and pump output can be reduced / miniaturized. The effect of reducing pressure loss can be confirmed by analysis and can be measured by a water flow tester. Generally, a reduction by half can be achieved depending on the flow path diameter and flow rate.
* Applicable inner diameter for R : φ5 or more

Function integration

By using plastic for piping, functions such as hose clamps can be integrated. By retaining peripheral parts and forming a clip shape, it is easy to fix to the body, which also helps to reduce vehicle assembly time.

Realization of complex shapes

NIFCO proposes ideas of complicated piping layouts using mold structure / welding. NIFCO develops products with analysis / experiment, for example, a shape that can withstand high temperature/vibration environment stiffness. NIFCO has made many achievements, such as the use of drain cock with good workability and inexpensive structure.

Material repertoire

We propose the most suitable materials for the different application environment for both resin and rubber seal materials.
Adoption of PPS/PPA for harsh environments and POM/PP for low temperature environments for xEVs is also increasing.
